The Area

Central Harrow
is just adjacent to Harrow-on-the-Hill. The town centre has seen a lot of investment and is a modern, vibrant and lively place. It has two shopping centres (St Ann’s and St George’s) with a pedestrianised shopping street. St George’s is home to the multiplex Vue Cinema. There is a large selection of department stores and shops and all major banks as well as the post office. The Safari Cinema caters for Asian and Bollywood film enthusiasts from all over North West London.

The extensive variety of restaurants, bars, pubs and coffee shops make Central Harrow a popular choice for night time entertainment.

Places of Interest
There are several parks and open spaces to be found a stone’s throw from the town centre from Lowlands to Harrow Recreation Ground with its cricket and tennis facilities and play area for younger children.

North Harrow is a suburban area of North West London, situated north-west of central Harrow within the London Borough of Harrow. It borders Pinner, Central Harrow, Rayners Lane and Hatch End. The area grew up in the 1900’s as a result of the expansion of the Metropolitan Railway. It is popular with families and boasts the sought- after Primary Schools of St. John Fisher and Pinner Park.

Transport facilities
There are excellent commuter links into Central London from North & West Harrow Underground Stations via the Metropolitan Line (zone 5) or, alternatively there is the Piccadilly Line at Rayners Lane Station just 15 minutes away. Links to Euston mainline station can be found via Headstone Lane. Buses H9 and H10 stop outside North Harrow station, 183 on Pinner Road (2 mins).

For those interested in the history of Harrow, there is the Harrow Museum and Heritage Centre located in Headstone Manor Recreation Ground. The Museum holds special events and exhibitions suitable for families throughout the year.

North Harrow has its own library, post office and Tesco Express as well as boasting several different types of restaurants, takeaways and cafés.

West Harrow is located on the west side of the Borough with Harrow on the Hill and South Harrow  to the south, Rayners Lane to the west and North Harrow to the north. The properties in this area tend to be period Victorian and Edwardian. The primary schools of Vaughan school & St. Anselms are located in this area as well as Whitmore High School.

True to its bohemian roots, West Harrow has the first and only contemporary artist-led gallery, the Usurp Art Gallery & Studios, set up in 2010 by the Usurp Art Collective. It is considered a flagship project for Arts Council England.

Other places of interest include St Peters, an Evangelical church set in the heart of West Harrow and West Harrow Recreation ground within West Harrow Park. The Recreation ground has well-equipped enclosed play areas for both younger and older children and is popular with local families.

West Harrow is also home to West Harrow Garage, a family-run business established over 25 years ago, servicing the motoring needs of the local community.

Transport facilities
As with North Harrow, West Harrow has its own underground link on the Metropolitan line to the city via West Harrow Underground Station. You can access Baker Street in approximately 20 mins.
